Carole is an experienced Director in Aim listed Plc’s, entrepreneurial businesses and large multi-nationals. As Chief Operating Officer at Boots Dentalcare she turned around losses of £2m to breakeven within two years. As Category Head at Halfords she was responsible for buying and new product development, winning the ‘Retail Week’ award for innovation with the ‘We Fit!’ service and improving net profit by almost 10%. Carole is also an experienced Group Finance Director, as a Chartered Management Accountant, her early career was spent learning how businesses made, used and lost money. She has also founded, acquired and sold on companies, so is familiar with many of the scenarios faced by today’s businesses.

Women working at senior levels in organisations are still a relative rarity, but research by Grant Thornton in 2015 found that boards including at least one woman perform significantly better than those without. Carole will bring different perspectives and new ideas to your organisation and, along with other group members, will challenge you to think and behave differently to improve your business and personal effectiveness.

Carole has an MBA from the University of Nottingham, where she is now Vice Chair of trustees of the Student Union. Working with young people on a board is inspiring, they ask a lot of ‘why?’ questions, challenge the jargon and keep the board agile. She is also a Trustee of Groundwork, enabling disadvantaged people to improve their communities. ‘It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn from all parts of society and the more we share, the more we have.’

Carole’s Vistage Group is centred in the East Midlands and she holds regular ‘Experience Vistage’ events locally. Call Carole to reserve your place at a future event or find out more.
