Carri Nicholson

Newcastle & the North East, Vistage Chair

With a degree in Business Studies, Marketing and Psychology, and having previously sworn never to work with her parents, Carri found herself joining the family’s economic development consultancy two years after graduation as an alternative to either joining the dole queue or taking another tiny step up the management ladder in the hospitality industry.

Within 3 years Carri was generating 35% of the practice turnover and had become a recognised expert in SME development and support, change management and business transformation, working with private and public sector organisations of all sizes across Europe, as well as in Poland and the Eastern Mediterranean Rim.

Since leaving Firn Crichton Roberts, Carri has found period houses for high-net-worth individuals; managed Durham Business School’s MBA programmes; run the UK’s largest single-species conservation project; and raised £3.5M to safeguard the future of English red squirrels.

This varied and eclectic career means that over the last 25 years, Carri has developed strong skills both in identifying key business issues, and in coaching executives to develop the toolkits and skills to address these. Her overseas adventures have also given her a unique perspective of the widely differing ways people address fundamentally similar problems.

Carri’s passion for helping people and businesses is now firmly focused on the North East, with the launch of her Vistage executive coaching group for MDs, CEOs and owner-managers of businesses with typical turnovers of between £3M and £50M.

Carri’s members of her executive coaching group work together to regenerate both their businesses and their personal lives – helping each other to increase their turnover, grow their profits and create jobs, whilst finding a better and more harmonious work-life balance.

If you want to talk about the transformation that Vistage could make to both your business and your personal skills, call Carri now.
