Mark Burns

Mark qualified as a solicitor in 1990. He became an owner of the legal business he joined four years later at the age of 27 and then led the successful takeover of the Partnership in 2009. He led the business as managing partner until 2015 and was responsible for the conversion of the business from a partnership to limited liability – one of the first UK solicitor’s businesses to do this. The business doubled in size during his tenure as Leader.

He sold his interest in the business in 2015 to found a new Private Equity funded corporate law business. Mark’s goal in founding the new legal business was to change the world’s view of lawyers for the better by helping business owners build more stable and valuable businesses. Having successfully launched the business he again sold his interest. He then created Oakfield Consulting to allow him to continue to fulfil his goals outside of mainstream legal practice.

Mark has spent many years mentoring and coaching lawyers in the development of their careers. Many of those lawyers have gone on to long and successful legal careers. He also built and developed from scratch a strong senior leadership team who were not legally qualified.
