West Yorkshire, Vistage Chair
Dennis Gillibrand trained as a Mechanical Engineer and has over 20 years experience in General Management positions striving for business growth. For the 13 years before joining Vistage, Dennis worked for a multinational company supplying both equipment and service to large multi-national companies.
Dennis was Chief Executive for 7 years and during that time guided the company through a disposal by a UK plc to a US venture capital group, a merger with a German competitor and finally an acquisition of the whole company by the parent of the German partner.
This has led to experiences with leading business people, investors and politicians in Europe, the US and Asia. Throughout these periods of major change and disruption, there was significant business growth and increased profitability.
During the 1980s, Dennis worked for GEC (now Alstom) with responsibility for a number of teams who were tendering, negotiating, producing the designs and project managing the building of turnkey power stations mainly in Asia.
Prior to this Dennis worked as a specialist in the Ministry of Defence. Dennis is married with 2 grown up sons. He enjoys walking, the theatre, watching sport (mainly football) and has been known to enjoy the odd glass of wine.
