Gerry Murray


Gerry Murray has over 30 years of experience as a CEO in media, learning and technology. He has managed a range of companies from start-ups to large PLCs. Gerry has worked in the UK,  Europe, South East Asia and Australia. He is a specialist in strategic planning and change management including planning for strategic acquisition and divestment.

Throughout his career as a CEO, Gerry has acted as a coach and mentor to board level executives and business leaders across the business world. Gerry is comfortable working at all levels in an organisation and has helped many young entrepreneurs to design clear business plans and reach their business goals. In 2005 Gerry founded and chaired a digital media think-tank specialising in analysing the disruptive force of the world wide web on traditional media.

As well as being a Vistage Chair, Gerry is head of Business Coaching at Whitneymurray Ltd. Gerry believes passionately in the empowerment of individuals to solve problems by clear uncluttered thinking. “Most people have the answer to their own problems and challenges inside themselves, we just have to find the way to release those answers.” Gerry was CEO of Dods Plc for eight years and transformed the company from a traditional print based organisation into the digital media force it is today. In 2011 Gerry received the PPA Digital Publisher of the Year award in recognition of this work.

Gerry Lives in Wiltshire with his family and is active in local community politics. He enjoys all outdoor pursuits and is a keen cyclist.
