Foresight is a trait desired by organisations in order to be better prepared, increase agility and make more informed, decisions. Application of foresight can help leaders and organisations to consider changes in strategic course, identify core innovation areas, influence organisational culture, develop vision and own a particular thought leadership agenda.
Patrick will use a subset of insights from Future Agenda, the world’s largest open foresight programme, to help participants build a rich, shared perspective of the world in 10 years’ time. Individuals will share initial perspectives, assess the assembled insights for relevance, consider possible gaps and appreciate the implications of selected areas. Throughout, participants will experience foresight first-hand and take away learning how to apply specific foresight in their organisation.
In this session, Patrick will lead a collegiate, interactive session aimed at helping leaders to feel comfortable about working with foresight and to apply their learning in their own organisations afterward. Key areas of learning include:
- Making foresight accessible through hands-on participation
- The value of looking beyond normal timeframes and sources
- An appreciation of a participant’s ability to do foresight
- The translation of foresight into action
- Exploring specific techniques to apply to individual situations after
