This presentation focuses on the wellbeing of an executive who has to last the distance as a “performer” in business for 50 – 60 years compared with an Olympic Athlete who is lucky to perform for 10 years. The focus is different, the Olympic Athlete spends 90% of their time training themselves and performing at an elite level for 10% of the time. In reverse the Corporate Athlete spends often 90% of their time on the business and those in it and 10% of their time on their own wellbeing. The latter is a potential recipe for disaster in health and well being terms.
This presentation addresses some of the key issues affecting the wellbeing of the “Corporate Athlete”. It covers the importance of health and wellbeing to the executive and their corporate teams with examples from Adidas, Ferrari, Causeway and many other companies.
Topics discussed include heart disease risk, stress and its health challenges, happiness and the endorphin chemistry associated with a positive approach to business and life, creating positive cultures for health in companies, resilience and ways to build this into every day life, exercise, nutrition and lifestyle risk factor management and key wellbeing numbers you should know, along side your business numbers.
All of the above will then be illustrated with practical examples from award winning corporate wellness programmes that have been very successful in promoting a wellbeing culture within the corporate setting.
