Emotionally Intelligent Leadership
“I will pay more for the ability to deal well with people than any other skill under the sun.” ~ J D Rockefeller
Perhaps because academic qualifications and career experience are seen as tangible, to date they have been used as indicators of a person’s potential for success. Current research clearly shows however that emotional intelligence (EQ) is a significantly more accurate predictor of success than IQ. This is because it reflects how a person applies awareness to their immediate situation. The development of the key EI realms is therefore a very effective way of enabling senior managers to achieve organisational targets. It also helps them to build a team culture that ensures that their impact continues even after they leave an organisation.
This training session involves a combination of formal input/presentation along with small group work and discussion. The workshop is interactive with detailed information and hand-outs for all participants.
- To outline the key realms of Emotional Intelligence.
- To explore Goleman’s Research on Leadership Styles and from this clarify what Emotionally Intelligent Leadership is.
- To understand key behaviours and the personal knowledge required to ensure that you operate effectively within key realms. (We will focus on as many of the realms as is practical in the time available).
- To be able to translate into practical, achievable behaviours the learning, so you are confident you are demonstrating a high level of emotional intelligence.
This workshop is also suitable for a half day retreat.
