Rob Salter

Rob’s background is in a mix of senior commercial and leadership roles in large corporations, smaller start-ups and SMEs. Rob has led businesses ranging from £1m to £200m with P&L responsibility for over £600m.

Rob’s 35+ year career has been in retail and 3rd party retail supply chain distribution, working for Tesco, Kingfisher PLC and Handleman Company, as well as with a range of global clients including Walmart in the US and ASDA, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons in the UK.

In addition to being a retail generalist, Rob has specialised in emerging technologies, digital and home entertainment and has worked with the worlds’ major movie studios, record companies and games publishers, both in the UK and USA.

On top of his passion for learning, coaching and new technology, Rob has helped a number of SME’s and start-ups with strategy, business planning and fund raising.

At Tesco and Kingfisher he was an active member of the training academies and graduate recruitment programmes, delivering workshops and master-classes to hundreds of students and employees.

Throughout Rob’s career, he has been an active executive board member of several industry organisations including the Entertainment Retail Association and the Retail School at the University of Arkansas. Rob was also the Chairman of the Official Chart Company for several years and is a Management Member of the Institute of Professional Sales.
