Speaker Bio

Grant Goodwin

A passionate lifelong learner, Grant’s business ventures are grounded in the understanding that human beings naturally love to absorb and share knowledge.

In 2000, Grant founded BrainMass Inc., an online academic assistance service that connects undergraduate students with graduate level tutors across more than 700 subjects and topics. Building on the success of this model, Mr. Goodwin and his partners developed a knowledge brokering business providing just-in-time knowledge and marketing research to Fortune 1000 companies and top tier advertising agencies across North America.

Grant is based in Canada, but is frequently in the UK for speaking engagements.

Through this work, Grant discovered that virtually every challenge organizations face comes down to one thing: a breakdown in transferring the right knowledge from the business to the stakeholder.

So, he founded All Roads Inc. in 2011 to solve that problem. All Roads is a knowledge management services and software company. It employs proprietary methods and systems to map the knowledge of organizations and then convert that knowledge into robust content that is delivered to targeted audiences via online portals.

With equal parts innovation and gumption, Grant helms a team of strategists, content creators, designers, and software engineers who build and deploy cutting edge knowledge programs for clients across North America and the United Kingdom.

As a speaker, Grant shares his experiences in knowledge management and reveals how and why knowledge is underleveraged and, in fact, wasted by most businesses. He works with audience members to teach them how knowledge can be mapped, organized and turned into robust, interactive, content-rich online experiences that allow for the effortless movement of knowledge. Audiences leave knowing not just why knowledge should be managed, but how to do it, how to leverage it and how to manage and measure its value once “in motion”.

Grant specializes in business strategy, knowledge management, eLearning systems, content development, gamification, authoritative branding, and marketing communications.

Grant is also leading the charge to revolutionize the tech startup community in Ontario, Canada as the President of Innovate Kingston.

“The first thing we need to agree on is that knowledge is the lifeblood of your company. Protect and leverage it, and you’ll love what it can do for your business.” – Grant Goodwin

Knowledge in Motion

How to Leverage Your Knowledge to Scale and Differentiate Your Business

Overview:

People run your business and those people run on one thing: knowledge.

Knowledge affects everything — from a prospect’s willingness to convert, to a customer’s satisfaction with your product or service, to an employee’s ability to do his or her job effectively. It’s your business’ most precious — but all too often, it is overlooked and undervalued. Knowledge takes too long to develop and only a moment to lose. It isn’t accessible, consistent, or used efficiently.

You need to protect and leverage the knowledge of your business.

During this interactive workshop, Canadian entrepreneur and knowledge management expert Grant Goodwin outlines how managing and moving knowledge to the right people at the right time is the strategy to help your business attain its goals. From increasing sales to decreasing inefficiency, making better hires to shortening training time, being found online to reducing customer service calls offline, knowledge is at the heart of everything you want to achieve.

He’ll teach you how to capture, manage, and move the knowledge of your business and how to measure the ROI of your efforts.

Audience members will learn how the effective management and transfer of knowledge can solve some of the greatest challenges they face. Grant demonstrates how “knowledge in motion” enables businesses to:

  • Communicate with customers in a way that instills trust and confidence.
  • Shorten the sales cycle.
  • Attract top-tier applicants efficiently and retain the best staff.
  • Manage organizational-wide change and promote cultural alignment.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and engage staff from their first hour on the job onward.
  • Expedite and standardize employee training.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses in employees’ knowledge.
  • Create efficiencies in virtually every department of the organization.
  • Present a consistent brand experience at every touchpoint.
  • Improve customer service and increase customer loyalty.
  • Grow the business without needing the leader’s involvement in every meeting or decision.

Outcomes:

Attendees will leave this session with a full understanding of how to manage and deploy knowledge and why they need to in order to scale and differentiate their businesses. They will also receive a “Knowledge in Motion” guidebook, a customized workbook to be used with their teams to activate their learnings, free access to online knowledge mapping software, and unlimited access to All Roads’ online eLearning system, The Knowledge Base.

Workshop attendees will also be invited to sign up for a free consultation with Grant in which he will talk the time to understand the nature of your business, its goals, and its stakeholders and begin building a customized strategic framework for knowledge management and knowledge transfer.
