THE MAGIC OF CONFLICT

What if you could UNLOCK the secret to true collaboration, to build a better business culture and to keep your organisation working efficiently in the face of change, challenge and crisis?

The KEY SKILL that differentiates the TOP PERFORMING organizations from the rest is the ability to acknowledge, understand and manage CONFLICT.

OVERVIEW OF SESSION:

How do you get people to WORK TOGETHER in a fast-changing business environment, across internal and geographic boundaries and multiple functions when they have different priorities, incentives and ways of doing things? What is the IMPACT when staff behaviour is self focused rather than business focused and people are not sure what is expected of them and why?

  • Are people sometimes lacking motivation?

  • Do ‘issues’ get discussed behind closed doors?

  • Are people working ‘separately together’ not as one?

This workshop is designed to help business leaders to understand much TIME and MONEY is wasted in lost productivity, disciplinary issues, recruitment costs and complaints when conflict is not managed early and effectively. It focuses on the fact that:

  • You cannot improve collaboration until you have addressed the issue of conflict
  • Conflict is inevitable and important because it is the energy that generates real value
  • Most people lack the skills to deal with conflict effectively
  • Escalation of conflict wastes management time and has a massive knock-on cost
  • Conflict management equips people to deal with conflict at source

SIGNIFICANCE TO CEOs AND BUSINESS LEADERS

Businesses are under more pressure than ever juggling issues with staff, clients and partners and dealing with challenges on a daily basis that frankly make life at work tough and work life balance even tougher.

Most are focused on the SYMPTOMS rather than the ROOT CAUSE of their problems.

KEY POINTS COVERED

We’re going to take a deeper look at what conflict is and why it might actually be the MAGIC INGREDIENT in your life and/or business.

To challenge you to look at the COST OF IGNORING CONFLICT or handling it badly as well as some of the common issues that cause it in the first place.

To understand WHAT GOES WRONG AND WHY - Why we choose not to disclose things that are upsetting us and don’t act as we would like to when we do find the courage to confront other people about our concern.

To learn some TIPS AND TOOLS can you can use if we want to get things right in future?

And finally, to discuss what you can do to PLAN AHEAD and avoid similar problems arising in the future by creating a systematic approach to conflict.

OBJECTIVES OF SESSION

This INTERACTIVE SESSION is designed for business leaders to improve their skills and confidence in working collaboratively by helping them to better:

  1. Manage relationship challenges and crisis
  2. Resolve conflict easily and effectively
  3. Harness the positive energy in each other

  4. Enhance morale, productivity and engagement

VALUE AND TAKEAWAY TOOLS

STRATEGIES for managing disagreements at the point of conflict

COMMON METHODS and criteria for resolving issues

AN APPROACH that prevents escalation up the management chain

LEARNING of key skills and behaviours

ACTIONS AND REAL WORLD APPLICABILITY

Back in the office you will use these skills and tools to help you to see crisis and conflicts as opportunities to learn and grow.
