Speaker Bio

Louis Parsons

Louis works with high-level executives to unleash the creative energy within them and their company. Essentially, he helps leaders to see and grasp their own future.

His extraordinary ability to evoke the best in a leader and their organisation makes Louis and his work sought after worldwide. One of his artworks was auctioned, and raised £120,000 for charity.

His VisionScape work has been commissioned by corporations such as BMW and Visa, as well as successful private entrepreneurs. Louis is the founder of and lead instructor at VisionScape Academy, which trains and accredits facilitators of VisionScape workshops. These workshops enable leaders to tangibly experience their inner creativity whilst painting a vision of the future.

In addition to being a master painter, Louis is a professional Insights Coach. This helps him work closely with people to explore and capture the essence of what is most important about their vision, goals, and creative potential.

Louis is an articulate speaker on themes of creativity, engagement and fulfilment at work. He has worked with leadership teams at Visa, Mars, Bank Of America, eBay, Hilton, Glaxo Smith Kline and Microsoft. He also is Artist in Residence for The Four Seasons, Kuda Huraa.

As both an artist and a thinker, Louis is fascinated by what the future holds for organisations, especially the convergence between the seemingly separate disciplines of art and commerce. He is currently a think tank scholar for the Center Of Integral Wisdom, writing on the subject of a New Renaissance.

The Art Of Self Awareness

Overview

Self-awareness is the most valuable commodity we can ever obtain. When we are aware of who we are, and who we aren't, our lives and our workplaces flourish. And yet it is impossible to have self-awareness without the sharing of truth amongst peers.

Key Points Covered

We all have blind spots. Some are “good”. We are often more successful, more loving and more inspiring than we might realise. And some are “bad”. We can be arrogant, self-centered, limiting or just downright painful to be around.

And we are blissfully unaware of these. But our peers and colleagues see them all. They are excruciatingly aware of them!

Objective

There are two powerful ways to increase self-awareness. The first is to create artwork. The second is to get group feedback. This workshop does both.

A moment of honest and vulnerable truth telling can save you decades of potential growth. Are you willing to open the doors to who you really are and be seen?

Are you really ready to show up, and see who you really are?

If you are, then this workshop promises to enable you to have a real conversation about what you see is holding your colleagues back, and what you see their real and unique qualities are. This level of feedback is truly priceless and promises to take the success of your group to another level.

Potential Participant Benefits:

  • Save decades of your life groping in the dark waiting for a moment of realisation.
  • Have an honest, real and vulnerable conversion about the power, possibility and limitations that you and your colleagues have
  • Generate lifeline breakthrough moments that are visceral and powerful, and enable you to take your life and your business to the next level

The Art Of Turning Fear Into Freedom

Overview

In this powerful creative session, you will identify the fear that most holds you back and overcome it.

Key Points Covered:

Just how much does unconscious fear cost you? Its insidious power robs you of energy and truncates your decision-making process every single day. This reflects in how we show up, and ultimately in the bottom line of your business.

Objectives of the Session:

How much do you limit yourself? What do you say you can and can't possibly do?

There are moments in our lives when everything changes. We get that world changing idea, we overcome our deepest fear, we get that shift in perspective that changes everything else.

This session is designed to be an extraordinarily experiential and memorable session. Every time this process is facilitated the results are entirely unique through the art of truth telling and vulnerable conversation.

If you have the courage to fully engage with this process, this session promises to provide profound breakthrough moments for you and your members.

Potential Participant Benefits:

  • Successfully identify the real obstacle that has been holding them back from years of growth and development
  • Have the pivotal breakthrough moment that will take them and their business to the next level
  • Renewed levels of energy and freedom so we realise what we are truly capable of.
  • A profound level of trust built in the group through vulnerability, truth telling and honesty.

Releasing Creativity, Soul and Presence at Work

Overview:

People, teams, organisations ... and the world...are changed by the power of an authentic vision, executed with engagement and consistency. Authentic leaders create, embody and demonstrate this vision every day.

All too often the power of a vision is vastly reduced to a few words, put in a bottom drawer, and looked at once a year in the annual review.

In this workshop you are invited to face your creative fears, envision a future that you want to create, and then paint that vision on canvas. (You don't need to think you have an artistic bone in your body to do it! Just courage and the ability to worry.)

Along the way well explore themes that will greatly develop your entrepreneurial spirit and expand essential leadership knowledge such as:

  • When do you feel truly alive? Why is this so important in daily leadership?
  • Why every single one of us is creative and why releasing this creativity is fulfilling, productive and engaging.
  • Why it's impossible to make a mistake?
  • The power of stillness in making good decisions.
  • Creating exceptional value.
  • Optional: Exploring the four quadrants of vision using the VisionScaping Tool (This is especially useful in full day workshops).

Outline:

The Experiential "Private View"
A guided interactive experience of Louis' artwork, which poses the question; "What do you experience when you look at art?" In contrast to traditional art events, this is not about the artist; it is about the perspective of the viewer. The artwork is sometimes linked with well-established personality profiling tools to help viewers identify their own style of creativity. It's also a great icebreaker!

When do you feel authentic?
Participants are taken on a guided tour of their interior experience through a simple five minute visualisation of a time when they felt truly authentic. This is a rich practise, designed to help people get back in touch with their personal sense of inspiration. With two creative sessions, we also utilise the powerful of the imagination to explore a moment in the future that participants want to create.

Share your experience.
After writing down this experience, it is shared with a colleague. This is very energising. It builds trust, intuitive listening skills, and enables people to fully explore the moment of inspiration. They also have the honour of hearing a peer make themselves vulnerable whilst sharing something of their authenticity. Often people don't see their colleagues in the same way ever again.

The Tenets and the Tools of creating.
Painting techniques are shared in under 2 minutes. This debunks the myth that creating has to be a long, drawn out process. The three fundamental rules of the creativity are shared. Much to everyone's relief, they find out it is impossible for them to make a mistake, and that we are all creative.

Paint your own VisionScape.
20-30 minutes of unashamed, unbridled, inspired creativity. Often, the art that is created is of an uncommonly high quality. These pieces make beautiful keepsakes, and are cherished by many of the participants. They can be hung in homes, or installed together as a corporate work of art.

Clients "Private View".
It's rare that we see the best qualities in our own creations. This private view enables participants to comment positively on each other’s works, and for the artist to share what they have painted. It's often a very moving experience.

Half day or full day:

A half day workshop includes two creative sessions, and a full day can include up to three creative sessions. This is hard to imagine, but once a leaders creativity is unblocked, there is a distinct urge to repeatedly create.

A full day also allows more time to facilitate the VisionScaping tool which enables the exploration of the four quadrants of successfully implementing a vision.
